IS 7998 : 1986 Specification for Contact Breakers for Two Wheelers, Three Wheelers and Stationary Spark Ignition Engines

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers mechanical requirements and methods of tests forcontact breakers used on two wheelers, three wheelers and stationary sparkignition engines having either:

a) battery coil ignition system, or

b) magnetic/alternator-coil, energy transfer ignition system.

1.2 This standard does not cover automatic advance mechanisms and camprofiles.
