NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 13) which is identical with ISO 17697 : 2016 ‘Footwear - Test methods for uppers, lining and insocks - Seam strength’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Footwear Sectional Committee and approval of the Chemical Division Council.

Under the general title ‘Method of test for footwear’, this standard is being published in several other parts. This part is an adoption of ISO 17697 : 2016 which specifies two test methods for determining the seam strength of uppers, lining or insocks, irrespective of the material, in order to assess the suitability for the end use.
