This Indian Standard (Part 9) which is identical with ISO 17696 : 2004 ‘Footwear - Test methods for uppers, lining and insocks - Tear strength’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Footwear Sectional Committee and approval of the Chemical Division Council.
