NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Third revision) which is identical to ISO 3600 : 2022 ‘Tractors, machinery for agriculture and forestry, powered lawn and garden equipment - Operator’s manuals - Content and format’ issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Agriculture Machinery and Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Food and Agriculture Division Council.

This standard was first published in 1976 with the title ‘Guideline for presentation of operator manuals and technical publications for agricultural tractors and machinery’. The standard was first revised in 1983 taking assistance from ISO 3600 : 1981 ‘Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry - Operator manuals and technical publications - Presentation’. The standard was subsequently revised in 1999 to align with ISO 3600 : 1996 under dual numbering. The third revision of the standard has been brought out to align with the latest version of ISO 3600 published in 2022 and is an identical adoption of the ISO standard under dual numbering.
