IS 818 : 1968 Code of Practice for Safety and Health Requirements in Electric and Gas Welding and Cutting Operations

1 Scope

1.1 This code lays down requirements for the protection of (a)persons from injury and illness, and (b) properties (includingequipment) from damage by fire and other causes, arising fromelectric and gas welding and cutting equipment, its installation,operation and maintenance.

1.1.1 The general provisions of this code of practice areapplicable to welding and cutting of metals and other alliedprocesses.
