1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard covers the requirements for cricket bats which are used to play with leather balls, and are made from English and Kashmir willow.

1.2 This standard, however, does not cover the requirement for cricket bats made from poplar wood (populus tremula) and similar species of wood that is used for recreational purposes like tennis ball cricket, beach cricket, tape ball cricket, and alike.
