1 Scope

This standard covers nomenclature of components inrespiratory devices. It specifies a classification of theenvironment where the use of respiratory protectivedevices may be necessary and a classification ofrespiratory protective devices according to their design.The standard defines the commonly used terms andpictograms of this area. The natural composition of airand the requirements for the purity of breathable airare given in Annex A.
