New Standard from Last Update.
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 8) which is identical with IEC 60216-8 : 2013 ‘Electrical insulating materials — Thermal endurance properties — Part 8: Instructions for calculating thermal endurance characteristics using simplified procedures’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Solid Electrical Insulating Materials and Insulating Systems Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.
This standard has been published in 7 different parts. Other parts in the series are:
Part 1 Ageing procedures and evaluation of test results
Part 2 Determination of thermal endurance properties of electrical insulating materials — Choice of test criteria
Part 3 Statistical Methods
Part 4 Instructions for calculating thermal endurance characteristics
Part 5 Ageing ovens
Section 1 Single-Chamber Ovens
Section 2 Precision Ovens for Use Up to 300°C
Section 3 Multi-chamber Ovens
Part 6 Determination of relative thermal endurance index (R TE) of an insulating material
Part 7 Determination of Thermal Endurance Indices (TI And RTE) of an Insulating Material Using The Fixed Time Frame Method
The text of IEC Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
