IS 8573 : 1977 Specification for Digital Electronic DC Voltmeters and DC Electronic Analogue-to-digital Converters

1 Scope

1.1 This standard applies to digital electronic measuringinstruments for the measurement of direct voltages (hereinafterreferred to as measuring instruments) and systems for data andinformation processing for the conversion of direct voltages(hereinafter referred to as converters).

1.1.1 This standard does not apply to apparatusmeasuring/converting alternating voltages.

1.2 This standard is also applicable to accessories, when theyare associated with apparatus, inasmuch as the calibration of theapparatus has been or may be carried out together with theaccessory, the standard being then valid for the combination of theapparatus and its accessory.

1.3 Safety requirements are not dealt with in this standard.
