1 Scope

1.1 This standard (Part III) covers general and performancerequirements of magnetic sound tape recording and reproducingequipment (reel-to-reel) of professional type employing 6.3 mmmagnetic tapes.

1.1.1 This standard does not apply to special purpose retardingand reproducing equipment, such as This:

a) High speed duplicators,

b) Dictating machines,

c) Cassette recorders,

d) Endless loop cartridge recorders,

e) Artificial reverberation recorders,

f) Logging recorders, and

g) Machines for perforated and other magnetic tape media notincluded in IS 4377 : 1967.
