1 Scope

1.1 This standard prescribes the methods of sampling and testfor phenolic moulding materials. The tests covered are fordetermining apparent density; density of moulding and bulk factor,time of flow, shrinkage of moulding, tensile strength, impactstrength, cross-breaking strength, water absorption, acetonesoluble matter before and after moulding, free phenols, freeammonia and ammonium compounds, temperature of deflection underload, plastic yield, electric strength, surface resistivity afterimmersion in water, volume resistivity and power factor and permittivity.
