IS 8835 : 1978 Guidelines for planning and design of surface drains

1 Scope

1.1 This standard lays down broad guidelines and principles forthe planning and design of surface drains for uniform applicationthroughout the country.

1.2 This standard is applicable only for surface drains inagricultural/rural areas. This does not apply to the planning anddesign of drains in urban areas, for which the practices areentirely different.
