1 Scope

1.1 This standard (Part 1) covers general conditions applicableto environmental testing and lists a series of environmental testprocedures, and their severities designed to assess the ability ofelectronic and electrical items to perform under expectedconditions of service.

1.1.1 Although primarily intended for such applications. thisstandard may be used in other fields, where desired.

1.1.2 Other environmental tests, specific to the individualtypes of specimen, may be included in the relevant specifications.
