IS 9282 : 2024 Wire Ropes and Strands for General Structural Applications Including Cable Supported Bridges - Specification

1 SCOPE

These standard covers requirements for wire ropes and strands for use in structural applications including all type of cable supported bridges for pedestrian, vehicular traffic pipe crossing and other tensile structure applications. Type shall be as per following table; however, other size, grades and construction may be supplied as per agreement between manufacturer and purchaser. Additional protection with polymer coating may be provided on spiral strand and full lock coil wire ropes if agreed between manufacturer and purchaser.
