Revised Standard from Last Update.

NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 6) (Second Revision) which is identical with ISO 976 : 2013 ‘Rubber and plastics — Polymer dispersions and rubber latices — Determination of pH’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Methods of Test for Rubber and Rubber Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 1982 and first revised in 1988 by deriving assistance from ISO 976 : 1986 ‘Rubber latices — Determination of pH’. The committee has now decided to revise this standard to completely align it with the latest version of ISO 976 : 2013 under dual numbering system. In this revision, the main title of Indian Standard has been retained to maintain continuity as this is part of a series of test methods for rubber latex.

IS 9316 is published in various parts. Other parts in this series are :

Part 1 Determination of surface tension (RL:1)

Part 2 Determination of viscosity (RL:2)

Part 3 Determination of coagulum content (Sieve Residue) (RL:3)

Part 4 Determination of total solids content (RL:4)

Part 5 Drawing of samples [RL: 5]

Part 7 Determination of total copper [RL: 7]

Part 8 Determination of total iron [RL: 8]

Part 9 Determination of total manganese [RL: 9]

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
