1. SCOPE

This standard defines terms for the specification of important characteristics of alpine, cross country skis (XC-skis) and snowboards. This standard also specifies the conditions for measuring the geometrical characteristics of skis.

These definitions are intended to provide better uniformity of terminology in product specifications.
