NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 2) (Second Revision) which is identical to IEC 60554-2 : 2001 'Cellulosic papers for electrical purposes - Part 2: Methods of test' issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Solid Electrical Insulating Material and Insulating System Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.
This standard (Part 2) is one of the series of Indian Standards which deal with cellulosic papers for electrical purposes. This series consists of the following parts:
Part 1 Definitions and general requirements
Part 2 Methods of test
Part 3 Individual materials - Specifications
This standard (Part 2) contains the test methods to be used in testing cellulosic papers for electrical purposes to meet the requirements prescribed in the various sections of Part 3.
This revision has been undertaken to align this standard with IEC 60554-2 : 2001.
The text of the IEC standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appears referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
