1 Scope
1.1 This standard prescribes the general procedure for thedetermination of thermal conductivity, by means of a heat flowmeter, of homogeneous insulating materials whose thermalconductivities do not exceed the limits given in 1.1.1.
1.1.1 For practical purposes this method is limited to thedetermination of thermal conductivity of specimens havingconductivity not in excess of 0.29 W/mK.
1.1.2 For this method, the suggested limiting temperatures ofthe surfaces to be in contact with the heat flow meter are 225 Kand 825 K. These limits may be extended in both directions, butshall be governed both by the materials of construction and by thecalibration procedures.
