IS 9523 : 2000 Ductile Iron Fittings for Pressure Pipes for Water, Gas and Sewage - Specification

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers requirements for ductile iron fittings(special castings) to be used with pressure pipes for carryingwater, gas and sewage for sizes from 80 to 2 000 mm nominaldiameter.

1.2 This standard is applicable to fittings meant for mechanicaljoints (bolted gland), push-on-joints and flanged joints forjointing by means of various types of gaskets. The design of thesocket and the gasket are not within the scope of this standard. Ifrequired, fittings fabricated from spun pipes and plain endedfittings can also be used.
