1. Scope

1.1 This standard (Part I ) is intended to provide information regarding the application of singal side band (SSB) power line carrier (PLC) systems to electricity supply networks.

NOTE 1 - As single side band (SSI3) systems are now almost universal, this standard is concerned with amplitude modulated systems of this type; however other types of systems such as double side band and frequency modulated systems exist (see 14 of Part II of this standard).
