IS 9583 : 1981 Emergency lighting units

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers the requirements and methods of testsfor emergency lighting units fitted with incandescent, fluorescentlamps and other discharge lamps.

1.2 The emergency lighting units covered in this standard aresuitable for providing the emergency lighting between 1 to 3 hoursduration and employ automatic switching on/off devices in the eventof failure/ restoration of normal power supply.
