IS 9623 : 2008 Selection, Use and Maintenance of Respiratory Protective Devices - Code of Practice

1 SCOPE

This standard describes various types of respiratoryprotective devices, discusses the factors affecting thechoice of such devices, provides information andguidance on the selection, use and maintenance ofrespirators and contains recommendations forestablishing respirator protection programmes at theworkplace.

The standard, however, does not cover in its purviewunderwater breathing devices, the use of respirators inaircrafts, the use of respirators under military combatconditions and the use of� life support respirators formedical or resuscitation purposes.
