IS 9645 : 2005 Hexagon Socket Pipe Plugs

1 Scope

This standard specifies the dimensions and other general requirements for hexagon socket pipe plugs for diameters from 8 mm up to and including 60 mm which areintended to be screwed into holes with parallel threads. Since, tightness is a function of pressure, temperature,the materials involved and the fluid with which the threaded parts are in contact, such connections cannotbe assumed to be tight. Hence, it is recommended that a sealant or seal ring may be provided where the holehas a thread.
