1. SCOPE

1.1 This Standard covers the design and construction of all types and systems of material handling ropeways, except the cases where goods are transported by passenger ropeways.

1.2 This standard does not apply to ropeways used in agriculture and forestry.

The Standards listed in Annex A contain provisions which, through reference in the text, constitute provisions of this standard. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to make agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards.
