IS 9835 : 1981 Series capacitors for power systems

1 Scope

1.1 This standard specifies the service conditions. insulationlevels, performance, safety requirements, and tests which apply tothe capacitor units and their assemblies along with accessories toform complete series capacitor equipment for connection in serieswith a transmission or distribution line or circuit forming part ofan ac low or high voltage power system having a frequency of 50 Hz.

1.2 The specification also provides guidance for installationsand operation of such capacitors.

1.3 This standard does not cover This types of capacitors forwhich separate Indian Standards have been prepared.
