1 Scope
1.1 This standard (Part 2) covers the requirements of heatresisting elastomer insulated cables for fixed installations andflexible cables for single phase or three phase system, suitablefor voltage (U0/U) 1.9/3.3; 3.8/6.6, 6.35/11,12.7/22 and 19/33 kV for electricity supply purposes.
Note 1 - For unearthed voltage grade following selectionprocedure to be adopted.
Cables of 1.9/3.3 kV, 6.35/11 kV and 12.7/22 kV grades (earthedsystems) are also suitable for use on 3.3/3.3 kV, 6.6/6.6 kV and11/11 kV grades (unearthed systems) respectively.
Note 2 - The cables conforming to this standard may be operatedcontinuously at a power frequency voltage 10 percent higher thanrated voltage.
Note 3 - Under Rule 54 of the Indian Electricity Rules 1956, incase of high voltage, the permissible variations of declaredvoltage at the point of commencement of supply is+6-9 percent.
1.2 These cables are suitable for use where combination ofambient temperature and temperature rise due to load results inconductor temperature not exceeding 90�C undernormal operation and 250�C under short circuitconditions.
