1 Scope

1.1 This standard (Part 5) covers procedures for operation andmaintenance of amusement rides or devices keeping in view generaland specific safety requirements.

1.2 This standard does not cover all the safety concernsassociated with the use of ride or device to carry passengers foramusement purposes. It is the responsibility of themanufacturer/designer and owner/user to establish appropriatesafety and health practices and determine applicability prior touse of the ride or devise.

1.3 Nothing in this standard is intended to contravene theprovision of any of the existing Government regulation. It is theresponsibility of the user of this code to establish appropriatesafety and health practices and comply with regulatory andstatutory requirements prior to use of the ride or device forcarrying passengers for their amusement.
