NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2/Sec 1) which is identical to IEC 60034-2-1 : 2024 'Rotating electrical machines - Part 2-1: Standard methods for determining losses and efficiency from tests (excluding machines for traction vehicles)' issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Rotating Machinery Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This standard was first published in 2011 and was based on IEC 60034-2-1. The first revision of above mentioned standard was published in 2023 was largely based on IEC 60034-2-1: 2014. This superseding is being done to align it with the latest version of IEC 60034-2-1 : 2024. On publication of this standard, IS 15999 (Part 2/Sec 1) : 2023/IEC 60034-2-1 : 2014 stands withdrawn.
