NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2/Sec 13) which is identical with IEC 60068-2-13 : 2021 ‘Environmental testing - Part 2-13: Tests - Test M: low air pressure’ was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Environmental Testing Procedures Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 9000 (Part 13) : 1981 ‘Basic environmental testing procedures for electronic and electrical items: Part 13 Low air pressure test’ was published in 1981 and was based on IEC Pub 68-2-13 : 1966. IS 9002 (Part 14) : 1985 ‘Specifications for equipment for environmental tests for electronic and electrical items Part 14 low air pressure chamber’ laid down guiding requirements for the design of low air pressure chamber required for carrying out low air pressure test in line with IEC Pub 68-2-13 : 1966. IEC Pub 68-2-13 : 1966 has been withdrawn and replaced by IEC 60068-2-13 : 2021. The superseding of these Standards has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60068-2-13 : 2021.
