NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2/Sec 43) is Identical with IEC 60068-2-43 : 2003 ‘Environmental testing - Part 2-43: Tests - Test Kd: Hydrogen sulphide test for contacts and connections’ was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Electromechanical Components and Mechanical Structures for Electronic Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 9000 (Part 25) : 1980 ‘Basic environmental testing procedures for electronic and electrical items: Part 25 hydrogen sulphide test for contacts and connections’ was published in 1980 and was technically equivalent to IEC 60068-2-43 : 1976. IS 9001 (Part 6) : 1980 ‘Guidance for environmental testing: Part 6 hydrogen sulphide test for contacts and connections’ was published in 1980 and was technically equivalent to IEC 60068-2-43 : 1976. IEC 60068-2-48 : 1976 has been withdrawn and replaced by IEC 60068-2-43 : 2003. The superseding of these standards has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60068-2-43 : 2003.
