NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2/Sec 47) which is identical with IEC 60068-2-47 : 2005 ‘Environmental testing — Part 2-47: Tests — Mounting of specimens for vibration, impact and similar dynamic tests’ was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Environmental Testing Procedures Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 9001 (Part 12) : 1977 ‘Guidance for environmental testing: Part 12 Mounting of electronic and electrical items for dynamic tests’ was published in 1977 and was based on IEC Document 50A (Central Office) 141’ Draft — Mounting of components, equipment and other articles for dynamic tests’, which has been revised as IEC 60068-2-47 : 2005. The superseding of these Standards has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60068-2-47 : 2005.

The text of IEC Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appears referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
