NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2/Sec 7) which is identical with IEC 60068-2-7 : 1983 ‘Basic environmental testing procedures Part 2-7: Tests - Test Ga and guidance: Acceleration, steady state’. issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Environmental Testing Procedure Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 9000 (Part 9) : 1984 ‘Basic environmental testing procedures for electronic and electrical items: Part 9 Acceleration (steady state) test’, IS 9001 (Part 15) : 1984 ‘Guidance for environmental testing: Part 15 Acceleration (steady state) test and IS 9002 (Part 9) : 1984 ‘Specification of equipment for environmental tests for electronic and electrical items: Part 9 Acceleration (steady state) test machine’ were published in 1984 and were largely based on IEC Pub 68-2-7 : 1968. The superseding of these Standards has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60068- 2-7 : 1983. On publication of this Indian Standard IS 9000 (Part 9) : 1984, IS 9001 (Part 15) : 1984 and IS 9000 (Part 9) : 1984 stands withdrawn.
