NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 3/Section 4) (First Revision) which is identical to IEC 60068-3-4 : 2023 'Environmental testing - Part 3-4: Supporting documentation and guidance - Damp heat tests 'issue by the Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Environmental Testing Procedure Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 9001 (Part 4) : 1979 'Guidance for environmental testing: Part 4 Damp heat tests' was published in 1977 and was based on IEC publication 60068-2-28 : 1980, which was further superseded by IS/IEC 60068-3-4 : 2001 which was based on IEC 60068-3-2001. The revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60068-3-4 : 2023.

The text of IEC standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are however not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as `Indian Standard'; and

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker in the International Standard, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
