This Indian Standard (Part 15) (Second Revision) which is identical with IEC 60079-15 : 2017 ‘Explosive atmospheres - Part 15: Equipment protection by type of protection “n”’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Electrical Apparatus for Explosive Atmospheres Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

First revision of this standard was identical with IEC 60079-15 : 2010. The second revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60079-15.
