This Indian Standard (Part 26) (Second Revision) is identical with IEC 60079-26 : 2021 ‘Explosive atmospheres — Part 26: Equipment with separation elements or combined levels of protection’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Electrical Apparatus for Explosive Atmosphere Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This standard specifies requirements for construction, testing and marking for Ex Equipment that contains parts of the equipment with different Equipment Protection Levels (EPLs) and a separation element’ which was previously covered in IS/IEC 60079-26 : 2014.

This revision has been undertaken to align with the latest version of IEC 60079-26 : 2021.
