NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with IEC 60098 : 2020 ‘Analogue audio disk records and reproducing equipment’, issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Audio, Video and Multimedia Systems and Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 6391 : 1981 was published in 1981 and was largely based on IEC Publication 98 ‘Processed disk records and reproducing equipment’, JIS C 5503 – 1967 ‘Phonograph pickups’, issued by Japanese Industrial Standards, Japan and REC 125 ‘A Phonograph pickups’, issued by Engineering Department, Radio Manufacturers’ Association, USA.
