NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 0) which is identical with IEC 60118-0 : 2015 Electroacoustic - Hearingaids - Part 0: Measurement of the performance characteristics of hearing aids’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Audio, Video and Multimedia Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 10776 (Part 1) : 1984, IS 10776 (Part 2) : 1984 and IS 10776 (Part 3) : 1984 was first published in 1984 and was based on IEC Pub 118-0 : 1983, IEC Pub 118-1 : 1983 and IEC Pub 118-2 respectively. IEC 60118-0, IEC 60118-1 and IEC 60118-2 has been withdrawn and replaced with IEC 60118-0 : 2015. This superseding of Standards is being published to align it with the latest version of IEC 60118-0 : 2015.

The text of IEC Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should beread as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
