NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 3) which is identical with IEC 60122-3 : 2010 ‘Quartz crystal units of assessed quality - Part 3: Standard outlines and lead connections’ issued by International Electro technical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Magnetic Components, Ferrite Materials, Piezoelectric and Frequency Control Devices Sectional Committee, and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 4570 series were based on IEC Publication 122-3 (1977) ‘Quartz crystal units for frequency control and selection - Part 3: Standard outlines and pin connectors’. The draft IEC was later published as IEC 60122-3 : 2010. The superseding of above mentioned series of Indian Standards has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60122-3 : 2010 and on publication of this standard, IS 4570 series stands withdrawn.
