This Indian Standard (Part 1) which is identical with IEC 60189-1 : 2018 'Low-frequency cables and wires with PVC insulation and PVC sheath - Part 1: General test and measuring methods' issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Wires, Cables, Waveguides and Accessories Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.
