NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 6) which is identical with IEC 60269-6 : 2010 ‘Low-voltage fuses - Part 6: Supplementary requirements for fuse-links for the protection of solar photovoltaic energy systems’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Fuses Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council

This standard is to be used in conjunction with IEC 60629-1 : 2006, ‘Low-voltage fuses - Part 1: General requirements.

The significant changes in this standard are as follows:

a) The corresponding clauses or sub clauses of Part 1 have been supplemented or modified. Where no change is necessary, relevant clause or sub clause applies.

b) Tables and figures which are additional to those in Part 1 are numbered starting from 101.

c) Additional annexes are lettered as AA, BB etc.

The text of IEC Standard would be considered for approval as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
