NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 3/Sec 100) which is identical with IEC 60297-3-100 : 2008 ‘Mechanical structures for electronic equipment - Dimensions of mechanical structures of the 482,6 mm (19 in) series - Part 3-100: Basic dimensions of front panels, subracks, chassis, racks and cabinets ’ issued by the International Electro technical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of Electromechanical Components and Mechanical Structures For Electronic Equipment’s Sectional Committee LITD 03 and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 11719 (Part 1) was first published in 1986 in two sections IS 11719 (Part 1/Sec 1) : 1986 and IS 11719 (Part 1/Sec 2) : 1986 and was based on IEC 60297-2 : 1982. The Base IEC standard IEC 60297-2 : 1982 has been withdrawn and replaced by IEC 60297-3-100 : 2008. IS 11719 (Part 1/ Sec 1) : 1986 and IS 11719 (Part 1/Sec 2) : 1986 has now been superseded by IS/IEC 60297 (Part 3/Sec 100) : 2008 in order to align it with the latest Publication of IEC 60297-3-100 : 2008.
