NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1) (First Revision) which is identical with IEC 60320-1 : 2021 ‘Appliance couplers for household and similar general purposes - Part 1: General requirements’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Electrical Wiring Accessories Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 2001. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest IEC 60320-1 to make pace with the latest development that have taken place at international level.
