NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 9) which is identical with IEC 60444-9 : 2007 ‘Measurement of quartz crystal unit parameters – Part 9: Measurement of spurious resonances of piezoelectric crystal units’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of the Magnetic Components, Ferrite Materials, Piezoelectric and Frequency Control Devices Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 8011 was published in 1976 and was based on ‘IEC 60283 : 1968, Methods for the measurement of frequency and equivalent resistance of unwanted resonances of filter crystal units’. This IEC standard was later published as IEC 60444- 9. The superseding of the above mentioned Indian Standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60444-9: 2007 and on publication of this draft standard, IS 8011: 1976 will be withdrawn.
