NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1) which is identical with IEC 60519-1 : 2020 ‘Safety in installations for electroheating and electromagnetic processing - Part 1: General requirements’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Industrial Process Measurement and Control Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This standard superseding IS/IEC 519-1 : 1984 ‘Safety in electroheat installation: Part 1 General requirements’, identical with IEC 519-1 : 1984 ‘Safety in electroheat installations - Part 1: General requirements’. After the publication of this standard, IS/IEC 519-1 : 1984 shall be treated as withdrawn.
