IS/IEC 60556 : 2016 Gyromagnetic Materials Intended For Application At Microwave Frequencies Measuring Methods For Properties
[Superseding IS 8426 (Part 1) : 1977, IS 8426 (Part 2) : 1977, IS 8426 (Part 3) : 1977]
New Standard from Last Update.
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard which is identical with IEC 60556 : 2016 ‘Gyromagnetic materials intended for application at microwave frequencies — Measuring methods for properties’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of the Magnetic Components, Ferrite Materials, Piezoelectric and Frequency Control Devices Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.
IS 8426 (Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3) were published in 1977 and were based on ‘IEC Document 51 (CO) 164 and 51 (Sectt) 140 Draft measuring methods for properties of gyromagnetic materials intended for application at microwave frequencies’. These IEC documents were later published as IEC 60556 : 2006. The superseding of above mentioned Indian Standards has been undertaken to align them with the latest version of IEC 60556 : 2006 and on publication of this standard, IS 8426 (Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3) : 1977 will be withdrawn.
The text of IEC Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
