NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1/Sec 30) which is identical with IEC 60695-1-30 : 2017 ‘Fire hazard testing — Part 1-30: Guidance for assessing the fire hazard of electrotechnical products Preselection testing process — General guidelines’ was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Environmental Testing Procedures Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 11000 (Part 1/Sec 3) : 1993 and IS 11000 (Part 3/Sec 1) : 1993 were identical to IEC 60695-1-3 : 1985 and IEC 60695-3-1 : 1982 respectively. IEC 60695-1-3 : 1985 and IEC 60695-3-1 : 1982 have been withdrawn and replaced by IEC 60695-1-30 : 2017. The superseding of these Standards has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60695-1-30 : 2017.

The text of IEC Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appears referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
