NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2) which is identical with IEC 60706-2 : 2006 ‘Maintainability of equipment - Part 2: Maintainability requirements and studies during the design and development phase’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Reliability of Electronic and Electrical Components and Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 9692 (Part 1, 2, 3 and 5) was broadly based on IEC Document 56 ( Central Office ) 68 Draft - ‘Guide on maintainability of equipment - Part 1: Introduction to maintainability’ . This superseding will be published to align it with the latest version of IEC 60706-2.
