NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1) which is identical with IEC 60917-1 : 2019 ‘Modular order for the development of mechanical structures for electrical and electronic equipment practices – Part 1 Generic Standard’ was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Electromechanical Components and Mechanical Structures for Electronic Equipment’s Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 1885 (Part 67) : 1988 was originally published in 1988 and was identical to IEC Pub 916 (1988). IEC 60916 : 1988 is withdrawn and is replaced by IEC 60917-1 : 2019, which is a generic Standard. The superseding of this Standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60917-1 : 2019.
