NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 4/Sec 2) (Second Revision) which is identical with IEC 60947-4-2 : 2020 ‘Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Part 4-2: Contactors and motor-starters - semiconductor motor controllers, starters and soft-starters’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Low Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Sectional Committeeand approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

First revision of this standard was published in 2016 identical to IEC 60947-4-2 : 2011. This revision has been undertaken to align this standard with the latest international practices.
