NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 104) (First Revision) which is identical with IEC 62271-104 : 2020 ‘Highvoltage switchgear and controlgear – Part 104: Alternating current switches for rated voltages higher than 52 kV’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the High Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This standard was first published in 2015 identical to IEC 62271-104 : 2009. This revision has been undertaken to align this standard with the latest version of IEC 62271-104. This revision introduces new numbering, following IEC 62271-1 : 2017.
